Mailboxes

Group vs user accounts

A business account owns domains and mailboxes. A user mailbox belongs to one person; a group mailbox is a shared address that team members open from their own sign-in.

Using TuskMail: Group vs user accounts

What is the difference?

Business account
The owner login. Manages domains, mailboxes, billing and Maria AI.
User mailbox
A personal address such as [email protected], with its own sign-in and password.
Group mailbox
A shared address such as [email protected]. It has no sign-in of its own; members open it from their own sign-in.

How do group members work?

Members of a group are user mailboxes on the same domain. Open the group in Email accounts or on the domain page to add or remove members at any time. Removing a member ends their access to the group without changing any password.

Which should I choose?

Use user mailboxes for people and group mailboxes for shared inboxes like sales@, info@ or support@, so no one has to share a password.
